Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Information
What is a CSA? (Download a CSA Application)
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members of
the community become supporters of the farm by purchasing in
advance a share of the harvest. This allows the farmer to have
predictable start up income to purchase seeds, starts,
fertilizers, and repair or invest in equipment. Your shares also
help support small sustainable and diversified family farming,
keeps farmland open and usable, reduces fossil fuel usage
transporting food therefore helping keep the environment cleaner
and keeps your food dollars in the local economy.
As a member you receive farm fresh organic vegetables grown by people you know. It also gives you a connection to the farm and the seasonality of your foods. To get really fresh local foods you need to know what grows when! It allows you to see how and where your food is produced. We encourage children especially to know where their food comes from, so we will soon have a generation of enlightened adults.

U-Pick Herb & Cut Flower Share - $85.00 due with whichever
other share you choose. Cut your own herbs from our extensive
annual & perennial herb beds – no limit with the exception of
basil. At times it could be limited, but hopefully not. Also cut
your own flowers from our flower beds up to 25 stems per week –
larger stems (glads, sunflowers etc.) may be limited.
You pick which day of the week will be your pick up day, we are here all the time so you can decide which day is best for you. We ask that once you choose a day that you stick with it – no changing please!
Also if you need to miss a week – not a big deal. Just let us know 1 week in advance and then you can go 1 week later into the fall for you pick ups. We would ask that you not miss more than 2 weeks during the season though. That would make planning & juggling to difficult for us.
SHAREHOLDER BENEFIT – as an added benefit to our shareholders you will receive 5% off any other purchases you make at the Farm Stand on your pick up day ONLY!
For singles and/or very busy people who just want to purchase what they want when they want – we have a way for you to participate in CSA too! We are offering FARMSTAND SHARES just for you. These are only good at the Farm Stand.

What would be in a winter share?
For veggies these shares could include in the early fall,
broccoli, cauliflower, cabbages, Brussels sprouts, potatoes,
onions, beets, turnips, carrots and other root crops, also
winter greens. As we get deeper into the winter we would have
most root crops and sturdy winter greens, dried beans sometime
in January. We will also be providing our own frozen summer
veggies like whole tomatoes, basil cubes, sliced peppers and
more. Also some pickled veggie items, sauerkraut, jams, jellies
and salsas, all preserved from the summers excess. We also grow
our own sprouts during the winter months. We will also hopefully
be getting some experimental crops from our High Tunnel as long
as they last – including mesclun, spinach, radishes, baby
carrots and snow or snap peas. Each pickup will include a recipe
of two to help you get to know and love the unfamiliar root
crops and greens your share will include.
DROP OFF SITES
Do you have 10 or more shareholders who would like to
have a central drop location? If you do, let us know and we will
work to accommodate that. This could be for summer or winter
shares.
